INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR
HUNTER ORIGINAL® CEILING FANS
TROUBLESHOOTING
| PROBLEM |
PROBABLE CAUSE |
SOLUTION |
Nothing happens; fan does not move.
Note: If blades will not turn by
hand, contact your nearest service representative
or dealer for assistance. |
- Power turned off, fuse blown, or circuit breaker tripped.
- Loose
wire connections or wrong connections.
- Motor reversing switch
not engaged.
- Pull chain switch not "on."
- No oil or low oil level.

- Turn power on, replace fuse, or reset breaker.
- Loosen canopy,
check all connections according to STEP 5 - WIRING INSTRUCTIONS
(turn power off before checking).
- Push switch firmly up or down.
- Pull switch chain.
- Check the oil level according to STEP - CARE
AND MAINTENANCE
(turn fan off before checking.)

| Noisy operation. |
- Blade brackets screwed loosely to motor.
- Blade screwed loosely
to blade iron.
- Blade cracked.
- Canopy contacting ceiling.
- No oil or low oil level.

- Tighten screws until snug.
- Tighten screws until snug.
- Replace
all blades.
- Lower canopy.
- Check the oil level according
to STEP - CARE AND MAINTENANCE (turn fan off before checking.)

| Excessive Wobbling |
- Unbalanced blades.
- Inadequate blade clearance.
- Loose blades
or blade irons.
- Fan not secure on hanger assembly.
|
- Rebalance. (See Step 7 sub-step 4.)
- Relocate Fan.
- Tighten
all screws.
- Turn power off. Support fan very carefully. Loosen
canopy and hang correctly.
